Dylan Gooley
Hello, I am a software engineer and technical consultant located in Fairfax, Virginia. I am a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Computer Science, where I focused primarily on Cyber Security and also completed a minor in Statistics. I have business experience in many coding languages, primarily Python. Outside of academics and work, I enjoy endurance athletics and strategy gaming. I have run multiple marathons and have been training for almost two years now to complete a 1-hour plank! In addition, I run a Dungeons and Dragons epic twice a month, which has been ongoing for two years. I also coach several professional poker players in my free time. At home, I have a cute poodle puppy named Cedar. My favorite board game is Terraforming Mars, and my favorite snack is a bagel! :)

My Work Samples
- Two-Player Console Game
- Final Project for Computer Organization (Course on Raspberry Pi)
- This project included assembling consoles out of two rasberry pi, programming a complete game in python, developing some graphical animations, and using web sockets for console communications. The game was built to resemble a pokemon-like fight game. Linked is a video demo of the final product.
- Web Design Project
- Final Project for Intro to Web Design
- For this project I worked with a team of three programmers to create an interactive website. This website included tools for games such as Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: the Gathering that could be used to enhance a players experience. Linked is the, now privately hosted, website. Note: if you look at the auction system it requires host-side control to work.
- Game Design of 2048 from Scratch
- Final Project for Advanced Programming
- For this project I used C++ to create a 2048 game with graphics from scratch. This project incorporated graphical design, event listeners, avid function testing, and complex logic. Linked below is the code repository which includes a link to the video demo inside the readme. This project well represents my organizational skill.
- Making AP Data Secure
- Final Project in Differential Privacy
- For this project I took a data set of AP data results. After attacking the data in several ways and identifying weaknesses in its initial forms I manipulate and redesign the data into a secure format. This project well represents my adaptability and creativity in programming. Linked below is a video demo of the project.
